This post deals with the domestic registration fees from 1967 to 1989. Registration limited to the Centennial period 1967 - 1973 was the subject of an earlier post. In this article, we look at domestic registration in the post-Centennial period.

The minimum registration fee provided indemnity up to $50.00.

As stated above, registered mail automatically provided some protection against loss. From April 1977 to December 31, 1989, $100 indemnity was included when the minimum registration fee was paid. That changed on January 1, 1989 when Canada Post offered two types of registration services:
