When we think of the concept of healing, the latest medical breakthrough comes to mind. Long before the arrival of the technological age , however, an ancient Aboriginal tradition stressed the importance of being ourselves with the Creator.
Tribal shamans as well as contemporary groups of elders have always taken a holistic approach that the treats the symptoms of a physical illness or disease as only part of a larger problem. Restoring balance to an individual's four elements - the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual is most important.
The aboriginal healing stamps was illustrated by Newfoundland artist Jerry Evans.

The Aboriginal Healing stamp was one of 68 Millennium stamps first issued in a hardbound book, Canada Post The Millennium Collection : Expressions of a People, on September 15, 1999. The stamps were printed two to a page.
The Inuit Shaman and Aboriginal Healing stamps were printed on the same page.
2. Millennium Collection Souvenir Sheet
Canada Post Corporation re-issued the Millennium stamps in panes of 4 stamps issued over a three month period from December 17, 1999 to March 17, 2000. The souvenir sheet with the Healing From Within stamp was released on February 17, 2000.
