1969 Charlottetown
In 1769, St. John Island (later known as Prince Edward Island) became a separate colony from Nova Scotia. Charlottetown was appointed the capital of the colony. Canada Post Office issued a stamp commemorating the 200th anniversary of Charlottetown's status as capial on July 15, 1969.
