1975 Canadian Commemoratives
Private First Day Covers

1976 Olympic Games, Water Sports
Three semi-postal stamps (8c+2c, 10c+5c, 15c+5c) commemorating the 1976 Olympic games began Canada Post's 1975 stamp schedule on February 5, 1975.

1976 Olympic Games, Sculptures

On March 14, 1975, two high value Olympic stamps were issued featuring the sculptures of Robert Tait McKenzie. "The Sprinter" and "The Plunger" were shown on the $1.00 and $2.00 stamps respectively.

Indians Series, Indians of the Subarctic

Canada Post continued the Indians of Canada series with four stamps dedicated to the Indians of the subarctic issued on April 4, 1975.

Shering Corporation Generic Cachet

In 1975, Schering Corporation discontinued mailing out first day covers with cachets specific to the stamp being issued. Instead, a generic cachet featuring the 3 pence beaver was used for all its promotional covers.

Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
Louis Hémon, Maria Chapdelaine

The stamps commemorating Canadian authors Lucy Maud Montgomery and Louis Hemon showed illustrations of characters from their novels. The two stamps were issued on May 15, 1975.

Dr. S.D. Chown, United Church
Dr. J. Cook, Presbyterian Church

On May 30, Canada Post issued stamps honouring Marguerite Bourgeoys, one of the founders of Montreal, and Alphonse Desjardins, the founder of the Caisse Populaire (Credit Union). Two English-Canadian ministers were commemorated on the same day: Dr. S.D. Chown and Dr. J. Cook, of the United and Presbyterian Churches respectively.

1976 Olympic Games, Track & Field Sports

Three more Olympic stamps were released on June 11, 1975. This installment featured track and field sports on medium value stamps, 20c, 25c. and 50c.

Calgary, 1875-1975

The Calgary commemorative, issued on July 3, 1975, was the first single stamp release of the year.

International Women's Year
The United Nations declared 1975 to be International Women's Year. Susan McPhee of Montreal designed the International Women's Year stamp for the Canada Post Office, issued on July 14, 1975. She made use of an elegant graphic variation of the female symbol.

Three semi-postals featuring combat sports were issued on August6, 1975.

The Supreme Court of Canada, 1875-1975
The Centenary of the founding of the Canadian Supreme Court was commemorated on September 2, 1975.

Ships of Canada, Coastal Ships

Four stamps featuring coastal ships were issued on September 24, 1975.

Christmas Stamps

The annual Christmas stamps were issued on October 22, 1975. Six designs were selected from the works of 80,000 children under age thirteen who expressed themselves on the topic "What Christmas Means To Me".

The Royal Canadian Legion's 50th anniversary was commemorated on November 10, 1975.
