Toronto "D" machine cancellation, July 21, 1941
A machine cancellation with a capital letter "D" positioned in the centre of a seven wavy line obliterator was used to cancel letters dropped into the letter slot at Toronto Postal Terminal "A". Stokes, A,H., Machine Cancellations of Toronto, Canadian Philatelist, Vol. 10,, No. 5,, 1959, p. 194
Although several types of D obliterators were made from 1941 to 1966, only one type appears to have been in use at any given time. The D obliterator types are shown below in chronological order along with brief descriptions.
(A "D" obliterator was also used at Postal Terminal "A", Toronto during the 1930s. Examples are shown in the addendum below)
