The registration fee was 35 cents, providing up to 25 gold francs ($8.17) indemnity.

On November 1, 1968, the maximum indemnity for loss increased from 25 to 40 gold francs. The registration fee remained at 50 cents.

Czechoslovakia Currency Control


Cumberland Beach to Novi Jocin, Czecholovakia, January 29, 1969
15 cents air mail rate for 1/2 ounce

The letter was not registered by the sender in Canada. The letter was opened by a Czechoslovakian official who sealed it with tape and applied a currency control handstamp. A Prague Registration label was affixed. The addressee was taxed 1 Kcs (the registration fee).
