A. Air Mail Rates
1. 1945 - October 31, 1946
International air mail service which had been curtailed or suspended during the war years was gradually reintroduced in the months following the end of the war. Over one dozen different air mail rates were in effect. The Canada Post Office department began to simplify air mail rates in June 1946 with the introduction of a uniform rate to Europe of 30 cents for each half ounce. In November 1946, the dozen or so different post-war air mail rates were reduced to four rate groups.
